## Passwords
You can change your password by logging in to `philae.polito.it` (see ["Connecting to the Servers"](/connection)) and using the `passwd` command. You cannot change your password from other servers. Remember to always use a secure password.
When your account is created, you will receive your username and a temporary password. At your first login, you will be asked to change the temporary password with a new one. You'll have to insert the new password twice. If this is your first time using a Linux terminal, be aware that when you type in your password, you have no visual feedback, i.e. you will not see asterisks ("*********") or any other character appearing while you type.
After the first login, you can always change your password by logging in to `philae.polito.it` (see ["Connecting to the Servers"](/connection)) and using the `passwd` command. You cannot change your password from other servers. Remember to always use a secure password.
